What are FlexIPs?

FlexIPs (= flexible IP addresses) are for you to be able to use official IP addresses rented from us to be used with any server in the world at anytime you like to. You can easily move the IP addresses to be used with another server. Our service comes with a basic DDoS-protection. To be able to use our ip addresses you first rent a so called GRE tunnel (=Generic Routing Encapsulation tunnel). One end point of the tunnel is our router and the other end point is your server you chose to use our IP addresses with. After having established the GRE tunnel with our configuration information you will be able to use it right away. You can also set PTR-records for each IP address rented. Wie kann ich TUN/TAP für meinen vServer aktivieren?

TUN/TAP ist bei LXC vServer besonders für Benutzer, welche einen VPN betreiben möchten, eine notwendige Funktion. Standardmäßig ist dies bei LXC nicht möglich. Damit Du als Kunde Deinen Server bestmöglich nutzen kannst, aktivieren wir den Adapter nach der Bestellung automatisch für Dich. Zur Nutzung des Adapters kann es notwendig sein, dass Du Deinen Server Neustarten musst. Der Adapter wird spätestens 5 Minuten nach der Erstellung Deines Servers aktiviert. Wenn Du also einen frischen vServer bei uns bestellt hast und auf den TUN/TAP Adapter angewiesen bist, musst Du lediglich 5 Minuten warten und dann Deinen Server Neustarten. Danach kannst Du ganz einfach Deinen Server vollumfänglich nutzen.
